Add a little pizzazz to those boring plastic champagne flutes with this easy DIY New Year’s Eve Craft.
I’ve been seeing a lot of pictures online lately of sparkly champagne flutes. While I am a huge fan of sparkles myself, I know most of my friends and especially my boyfriend hate them. That’s what inspired me to come up with my own New Year’s Eve craft that would make me happy without aggravating everyone around me.
I still wanted to decorate those plastic champagne flutes though and when I came across this shiny gold ribbon in the store I knew it was exactly what I was looking for!
I’m super happy with how this DIY champagne flute decoration came out and my favorite part was how easy it was.
What you need:
- Hot Glue Gun
Start by cutting pieces of ribbon anywhere from 12-18″ long.
Put a small dab of glue at the end of the ribbon.
It should be a small enough dot that the glue doesn’t squeeze out from under the ribbon when you press it onto the champagne flute.
Attach it to the bottom of the stem so that it is slanted upwards very slightly.
Add another dab of glue every 2-3″ and continue to spiral up the glass.
Cut the ribbon where it meets the rim of your champagne flute and add one more small dab of glue.
Don’t worry about making every glass look the same because variation makes them way more fun!
